Using electricity from a wind farm to power a house fan is basically a teleporter for wind.

Same goes for using solar power for lights.
13 Aug 2017 23:28 - +1079
Hmm but a very inefficient one.

Using solar power to charge a battery which is later used to power a lightbulb ... is a time machine for light!
13 Aug 2017 22:58 - +25
How high are you?
13 Aug 2017 22:31 - +14
Mind = splatteree all over fridge
14 Aug 2017 01:01 - +12
It's more like going into a teleporter and your toenails coming out the other side.
14 Aug 2017 01:21 - +11
It's not the same wind though. Which brings up disturbing thoughts about people constantly using teleporters in shows like Star Trek.
13 Aug 2017 23:18 - +9
woke
14 Aug 2017 00:15 - +6
I'd like to make an investment in your mind please
14 Aug 2017 01:40 - +5
And a telephone is a teleporter for your voice
14 Aug 2017 01:04 - +3
so solar powered lights are teleporter for lights
14 Aug 2017 01:39 - +2
If I see this post again I am going to kill someone...

Ascended

All the food you eat is just a teleporter for solar energy into your tummy

14 Aug 2017 02:31 - +1
It's all Potential energy or Kinetic energy! Yeah Physics!
14 Aug 2017 02:04 - +1
Well.. I guess? If we killed you to power a human making machine, did we transport you?
14 Aug 2017 02:36 - +1
Then this post is basically a teleporter of the same shitty post like two months ago. Makes about the same amount of sense.
14 Aug 2017 01:54 - +1
Try telling that to the town I live in. Currently blocking us from putting up turbines on our farm land.
14 Aug 2017 02:43 - +1
Your mom is a teleporter for wind
14 Aug 2017 02:23 - +1
Using coal to power light bulbs is like opening time capsules of sunlight.
14 Aug 2017 02:05 - +1
We may be closer to teleportation than we think.
14 Aug 2017 01:52 - +1
Isn't all energy from the sun though? Wind is created by the sun's warmth. Fossil fuels were made from plant material, which grew from the sun's energy. Tidal energy from the sun. Nuclear is just material enriched enough to put out energy using energy from sources from the sun. Hydro is from water brought to a high altitude by the sun evaporating it. Geothermal is FUCK.
14 Aug 2017 02:08 - +1
This is the kinda shit I come here for. Thank you OP.
14 Aug 2017 02:00 - +1
How long till there are human trials of this "teleportation technology." I bet it would yield results similar to walking dead.
14 Aug 2017 02:09 - +1
You can actually take a regular motor and hook it up to another regular motor. If one spins, the other spins too (with some power loss). Put a propeller on either side and you've got yourself a wind teleporter.
14 Aug 2017 02:13 - +1
This is the first post in this sub that actually made me think. Good one.
14 Aug 2017 02:11 - +1

14 Aug 2017 02:27 - +1
So does that make a video camera a teleporter for pictures, and phones a teleporter for sound?
14 Aug 2017 02:11 - +1
Dude... that must've been a good shower
14 Aug 2017 01:45 - +1
No it isn't
14 Aug 2017 02:12 - +1
I thought this was r/showerthoughts not r/retardthoughts
14 Aug 2017 01:54 - +1
Storing the power in a battery and then using it later could be considered time dilation by your logic
14 Aug 2017 02:16 - +1
Same goes for burning wood and sunlight
14 Aug 2017 01:56 - +1
Think about how terribly inefficient this is. Just sayin'
14 Aug 2017 02:19 - +1

It's like...whatever a landline phone does.
14 Aug 2017 02:04 - +1
I mean you could say it literally bends space and time because it can be anywhere at anytime
14 Aug 2017 00:58 - +1
Booooo
14 Aug 2017 02:08 - +1
No, because due to physics you will always lose some power in the process, so it is like a teleporter where you wake up 10 years older.
14 Aug 2017 01:10 - +1
Wind stock
14 Aug 2017 02:09 - +1
Basically energy is transferred from one form to another, reinventing science , are we?
14 Aug 2017 01:13 - +1
Fax machines use the same technology
14 Aug 2017 02:09 - +1
or like nuclear power to take X-rays
14 Aug 2017 01:18 - +1
Not really but cool
14 Aug 2017 02:11 - +1
mind = fuse fuse = blown
14 Aug 2017 01:27 - +1
This is why I love this sub, so many clever posts!
14 Aug 2017 02:12 - +1
So then phones are teleporters too?
14 Aug 2017 01:29 - +1
Black magic fuckery: get two Lego motors and connect them together with a cable brick, then place them back to back so the shafts are in line. When you twist one shaft back and forth with your fingers, the other end will match the twists so exactly that you can't tell there's a break, the shaft appears as just one solid bar. Then you move the motors apart so you can see the shafts are not mechanically the same bar, and twist it again.
14 Aug 2017 02:14 - +1
soylent green is PEEEEOPLE!
14 Aug 2017 01:33 - +1
Teleporters shouldn't need wires between ends.
14 Aug 2017 02:17 - +1
u/waterguy12
14 Aug 2017 01:41 - +1
Not really teleporting any air or wind are you though?
14 Aug 2017 02:21 - +1
Technically no, since it isn't the same air, but it does show an interesting way we transfer power.

we can transport wind through 20 feet of concrete using a wire. science is pretty cool.
14 Aug 2017 02:25 - +1
What is this is how we end up inventing teleportation? a 3D printer that's powered by human matter that destroys your body and re-prints it out somewhere else. Sounds painless!
14 Aug 2017 01:51 - +1
r/lightbulb mini-wormhole as a fan. Teleport wind from a windy area to your face.
14 Aug 2017 02:28 - +1
Great Scott!
