You ready to see something crazy? The polling: * [In just five years, white evangelicals have become much more likely to say a person who commits an “immoral” act can behave ethically in a public role. In 2011, just 30 percent of these evangelicals said this, but that number has more than doubled to 72 percent in a recent [2016, ed.] survey, a 42 point swing. (In 2011 44% of all Americans felt this way, by 2016 that number was up to 61%, a movement of 17 points.)]( * [75% of Republicans and 53% of Democrats said that *Wikileaks release of classified diplomatic communications* harms the public interest in 2010](, [12% of Republicans and 48% of Democrats say that *Wikileaks release of John Podesta's emails* harms the public interest in 2016.]( (Not exactly the same question, but comprable, also a 63 point swing for Republicans and a 5 point change for Democrats.) * [22% of Republicans and 37% of Democrats supported President Obama issuing missile strikes against Syria in 2013, 86% of Republicans and 38% of Democrats supported President Trump striking Syria in 2017, a 64 point swing for Republicans, a 1 point change for Democrats.]( * [12% of Republicans and 15% of Democrats had a favorable view of Vladimir Putin in 2015, 32% of Republicans and 10% of Democrats have a favorable view of him in 2017, a 20 point swing for Republicans, a 5 point change for Democrats.]( * [17% of Republicans and 18% of Democrats said Russia was an ally of the US in July 2016, 31% of Republicans and 16% of Democrats saw them as an ally six months later in December 2016, a 14 point swing for Republicans and a 2 point change for Democrats.]( * [39% of Republicans and 64% of Democrats thought their income tax rate was fair in 2016, 56% of Republicans and 69% of Democrats thought that their income tax rate was fair in 2017, a 17 point swing for Republicans and a 4 point change for Democrats. (The income tax rate did not change between 2016 and 2017, ed.)]( * [When Republican voters in Wisconsin were asked in October 2016 whether the economy had gotten better or worse “over the past year,” they said “worse’’ — by a margin of 28 points. But when they were asked the very same question [in March 2017], they said “better” — by a margin of 54 points. That’s a net swing of 82 percentage points between late October 2016 and mid-March 2017.]( * ["Forty-two percent of Trump voters think he should be allowed to have a private email server to just 39 percent who think he shouldn't be allowed to,"]( The politicians have swung all over the place, too: [88 members of the Bush administration used private email servers.]( [There were 13 attacks on American embassies, resulting in 60 deaths during the Bush administration.]( [Here's a very important message about climate change, brought to you by Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich.]( (And [here's Newt Gingrich explaining why feelings are more important than facts. Yes, seriously.]( [George H.W. Bush was a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood.]( (*Because it helped drive down the abortion rate!* Hint, hint, Republicans.) [Ronald Reagan gave illegal immigrants amnesty.]( [Ronald Reagan came out in favor of a ban on assault weapons.]( (After he was shot.) [Governor Ronald Reagan outlawed open carry of firearms in California.]( (After the Black Panthers began open carrying their firearms; the NRA helped write the ban.) [The conservative Heritage Foundation think tank actually came up with the individual health insurance mandate.]( (Obamacare.) [Republicans used to advocate for Cap and Trade carbon taxes as a way to combat climate change.]( [Richard Nixon created the Environmental Protection Agency.]( (In part because Lake Michigan caught on fire.) [Richard Nixon also had a plan for universal health care coverage.]( [Ike Eisenhower had a top marginal tax rate of 90%]( and [invested billions of dollars in government spending on infrastructure projects.]( I don't know how else to say it except that "Republicans fall in line" is the perfect motto for the party. --- Edit: [No, CNN is not propaganda.](

But Obama was a Communist Kenyan Muslim who wanted to destroy America. Like, remember how he didn’t help American during Katrina or 9/11? What a traitor he is /s

Trump stopped a record job gain in his first finacial month and the national debt jump by over 100 billion.

There's not even an attempt at a joke here...not trying to start a fight or some shit by saying it's not funny, I'm saying there is literally no attempt by OP to make a joke. This sub is basically a clone of politics now...
13 Oct 2017 07:19 - +160
Reagan slept while the country burned so yeah, Republicans are real winning humans.
13 Oct 2017 10:47 - +157
> tripled the stock market What does this mean? Tripled it how? Trading volume, index value, number of stocks?
13 Oct 2017 10:56 - +122
Can you become funny again? I can pop over any time I want to r/politics if I want Obama worship and anti-Republican rhetoric.
13 Oct 2017 10:54 - +121
So that classic Onion headline applies to all Republican presidents.

I always like how when I click on a r/politicalhumor post the first comment is the mod telling everyone to be nice.

Just a reminder that rational, educated adults neither blame presidents for economic failure nor credit them for economic success. They're figureheads that can have a limited economic impact, but it usually takes years for the impact to actually reach people. The fact that congress is nearly entirely deadlocked and that a supreme court justice has passed away means presidential power is unusually high at the moment, but historically, there's not much they can do.
13 Oct 2017 07:15 - +95
With a Republican congress for most of the time? Edit: Republican/split

As much as I love a good circle jerk, the national debt increased the greatest amount under Obama's presidency

These memes are just becoming walls of text. There are better ways of distributing these thoughts....
13 Oct 2017 10:46 - +64
This isn't hard when you start with a massive recession.
13 Oct 2017 11:28 - +60
Obama didn't reduce the national debt at all? In fact during his time it got a lot worse. The most recent president to actual reduce the national deficit is Bill Clinton. Why do you idiots shitpost fake facebook politics and upvote anything? Actually look something up for once you morons.
13 Oct 2017 10:59 - +45
Obama increased the deficit to 1.5 trillion, kept it there for a few years, then brought it back to the 500B bush levels. Woo go Obama!
13 Oct 2017 10:45 - +44
Imagine where we would be if he had a legislative branch willing to work with him rather than oppose him on almost everything for the last 6 years of his term.
13 Oct 2017 11:02 - +43
Posting something from Occupy Democrats basically kills all credibility
13 Oct 2017 11:16 - +37
The debt went up to $20,000,000,000,000.
13 Oct 2017 11:16 - +28
As someone from outside the U.S. I think all of these "fights" between the 2 parties are absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I don't care if it was Reagan or Obama that did that, no matter who did it, if it was for the best of mankind (or the people of a single country) it doesn't matter, and I don't even live in the U.S. so it doesn't affect me. Dude, for f**k's sake, parties are supposed to have different views and philosophies, but no matter what party, they should always do what's best for their people.

This is considered Humor?
13 Oct 2017 11:25 - +26
False Obama’s added to the national debt by 80%
13 Oct 2017 11:32 - +26
and yet added over 9 trillion dollars to the national debt🤔
13 Oct 2017 12:38 - +20
Hello, are we just reposting Occupy Democrats now? Oh, we are? Cool, thanks.
13 Oct 2017 10:44 - +19
Trying to ask this in the abstract, divorced from the content of the meme, but why is job creation considered a necessary role for the government to assume? Shouldn't the government just be a protector of the free market and a hands-off arbiter for society?
13 Oct 2017 16:42 - +9
Obama actually added 1-10 trillion depending. Increasing the stock market value after a recession is kinda like putting your pants on. There is only one direction a bottomed market can go. Obama did add 11 million jobs. Reagan added 16 million (with 25% less population 220 million 1981, 300 million 2008) Bush was keeping pace with Obama until the recession started to take hold.
13 Oct 2017 12:36 - +6
I always see a million different posts, some claiming obama made the deficit worse, others saying he made it better. Same for trump. I’ve heard people say the economy has been doing well since he took office, and I’ve heard the opposite too. I just don’t know what to believe anymore so I’m removing myself from having any political opinions. I’m just gonna do me and hope you guys figure all this shit out. My non-political opinion of trump is that he’s a goofy asshole tho
13 Oct 2017 18:12 - +5
Fake news.
13 Oct 2017 16:49 - +4
I might be mistaken, but weren't like 90% of those jobs temporary?
13 Oct 2017 14:44 - +4
You can't use raw numbers because the population is so different between the eras. You have to go percentages.
13 Oct 2017 16:43 - +4
He created jobs by introducing more part time positions meaning full time jobs were split in half. Of course that will be "creating more jobs"
13 Oct 2017 16:39 - +3
Obama lowered the insurance rate for full time to 28 hours. Making companies change one full time for two part time employees. This is why it seems like he created more jobs . Since the company didn't have to pay insurance on part timers people were forced to buy Obamacare. What he has done is cause a bubble. That Trump will take the fall for. Obama hates America.
