"Sir would you like to take a moment to talk to the cameras?" "Sorry I don't have a moment. I really need to escape this BURNING HELLSCAPE BEHIND ME. Maybe next time."

this kind of stuff restores my faith in humanity. that man is a hero. he doesn't want attention. he just wanted to save that poor rabbit
7 Dec 2017 20:16 - +62
That’s a good man! I love seeing compassion in action.

Because not EVERYONE does good deeds for likes! Good on him
7 Dec 2017 21:47 - +24
This is something this man will never forget. Had he not been able to pick the little guy up, he would have felt bad his entire life.
7 Dec 2017 20:49 - +20
Made me cry a little bit

r/gifsthatstarttoolate In the source video there's a couple seconds more at the beginning where you see the man is truly panicked about this poor little bun.

As an exotic animal rescuer this warms my heart no matter what, but a couple extra things that might not be obvious to most. 1. That is probably a common wild rabbit (it's possible it is his pet). Most people can't be bothered to drive a rabbit to a rehabber. It's not threatened it's not rare and to most not worth the effort. 2. He is taking a risk of injury. I joke that I have been bit by both, and based on my experience I would rather be bit by a wolf than a prairie dog. Except I'm not joking at all...rodent style incisors like that SUCK and a bite is usually many successive bites that always seem to get infected. He isn't going to die from it, but he could definitely have a bad time. 3. The fact that he declined a chance to take credit for it says a lot about where his heart is at. I have a healthy respect for anyone that rescues an animal, but the fact is animal rescuers are motivated by different things. I think you could make a safe assumption that this man was simply saving a life because life is worth saving no matter what, where, or why. Anyway, good on him no matter what.

The rabbit didn't agree with an on-camera interview. Because it's a fucking rabbit.

The feels.

Maybe the greatest human alive
7 Dec 2017 23:41 - +1
That is the cutest thing in the world!
7 Dec 2017 23:32 - +1
This guy is certainly a better person than I am
7 Dec 2017 23:33 - +1
Later he made rabbit stew.... "It was already half way there!" The man exclaimed. "Would have been a terrible waste."
7 Dec 2017 23:32 - +1
This is something my mom would make me do. A few months I had to chase off 2 coyotes from trying to kill a dog.
7 Dec 2017 23:38 - +1
Damn spoiler alert! Looks like rmg keeps its branding.
7 Dec 2017 23:34 - +1
My wife would do this. Then again, so would I. We love all creatures.
7 Dec 2017 23:39 - +1
Feel like Frightened Rabbit definitely could’ve written a song about this. If they haven’t done already they could if they tried.
7 Dec 2017 23:34 - +1
Because some men just dont want to watch the world burn.

7 Dec 2017 23:38 - +1
The guy didn’t want to be named. Please let him remain anonymous reddit, don’t be fucking stupid
7 Dec 2017 23:42 - +1
Can someone please put this in reverse
7 Dec 2017 23:39 - +1
The reverse animal rescue gif will be bleak.
7 Dec 2017 23:43 - +1
He is roasting the rabbit at home
7 Dec 2017 23:39 - +1
This was in Ventura county, not LA. We're about an hour north of LA.
7 Dec 2017 23:34 - +1
Being across the country while my hometown of Ventura burns down is pretty damn difficult to watch.. but seeing something like this coming from Ventura put a smile on my face in a weird way.
7 Dec 2017 23:40 - +1
I saw this on TV this morning, and I was like "wtf is that psycho doing?- *OH OKAY!*"

7 Dec 2017 23:38 - +1
Fuck yes! That is what i fucking wanted to see drunk after a work christmas party. What a fucking champion
7 Dec 2017 23:41 - +1
He took it home and ate it.
7 Dec 2017 23:39 - +1
Or stealing it!
7 Dec 2017 23:22 - +1
Good luck to the RMG news folks, there's a documentary on them & a couple other groups like them and last I saw they were just a few brothers who rush to newsworthy events and film them/sell the footage to news agencies. If I remember correctly one of the brothers was having a hard time continuing after having to pull someone out of a burning vehicle.
7 Dec 2017 23:39 - +1
And then he went home to eat a hamburger
7 Dec 2017 23:02 - +1
"The man refused to be filmed So I released this anyway and made sure to share that fact at the end " What an asshole the cameraman is. Feel bad for the guy that people everywhere are now watching him. No good deed goes unpunished and doing anything is so off putting for this exact reason.
7 Dec 2017 23:41 - +1
Not my first rodeo on Reddit, so I was fully prepared for him to catch fire, burst into flames and come running towards the camera at some point.
7 Dec 2017 23:16 - +1
There is hope!
7 Dec 2017 23:41 - +1
Well my dad is a firefighter. During last summer here ( Chile ) the wildfires were really huge. He told me about the wild animals and how they had to handle them. He told me also about rabbits. The thing is, rabbits can spread the fire if they themselves catch fire. They would run to any other place without fire and spread the fire. Maybe the firefighter here was also aware of that.
7 Dec 2017 23:09 - +1
Annnnd I like people again.
7 Dec 2017 23:41 - +1
Rabbit died of fright 10 minutes later.
7 Dec 2017 22:11 - +1
Every time someone denies the option to be on camera I think of Joe Dirt and wonder if that guy happened to be in witness protection program.
7 Dec 2017 23:42 - +1
Seriously impressed he down that. Warms my heart. My big question is "How did he see the rabbit though?"
7 Dec 2017 23:08 - +1
What a hareowing rescue
7 Dec 2017 23:43 - +1
Motherfuckers not saving an animal. He's already reverting back to hunter/gatherer mentality and thats his next meal.
7 Dec 2017 23:34 - +1
This really made me feel better about this shitty world.
7 Dec 2017 21:13 - +1
Ah....1/2 baked hassenfeffer!
7 Dec 2017 23:16 - +1
I hate it when gifs have unnecessarily colored words every line to put an unneeded emphasis on them.
7 Dec 2017 23:28 - +1
The [Source]( is amazing to watch. He cares so much.

Sign of the times: when you read ‘unnamed’ as ‘unarmed’
7 Dec 2017 23:35 - +1
Truth is I would’ve laughed so hard if right after they said “He’s saving an animal,” if he just took a big ole bite of that poor rabbit. Would’ve been disgusting, but I definitely would’ve laughed.

With all of the terrible things going on in the US lately...this made me tear up a little...there are always good people, even if all you hear about are the bad people!
7 Dec 2017 23:26 - +1
Looks like meat is back on the menu boys!
7 Dec 2017 23:14 - +1
I mean look, that's a nice sentiment, but rabbits, especially cotton tails, are VERY prolific, to the point of almost being pests.
7 Dec 2017 22:18 - +1
If you do things right people won't think you've done anything at all. Also doing the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing.
7 Dec 2017 23:08 - +1
Risking your life for a rabbit is fucking stupid.
7 Dec 2017 23:00 - +1
He's actually just grabbing some dinner. That rabbit's already pre-heated
7 Dec 2017 20:11 - +0
He’s going from outdoor BBQ Grille to a nice home in granny’s stew

Ok, ok.. these comments are sweet and all, and I'm not usually the pessimist in the bunch, BUT.. this is dumb as shit. Putting yourself and potentially others at risk for the sake of a rabbit is not a good idea. Sucks to see an animal about to die, but reckless and not worth the risk. Ready for my downvotes now :(
7 Dec 2017 21:00 - +-1
Prepper 101. When disaster hits then secure your food source.
7 Dec 2017 20:56 - +-3
He’s definitely gonna eat that rabbit
7 Dec 2017 20:55 - +-4
It's a heart-warming story and all, but it left me with more questions than answers. Mainly, how did this man: 1) see this tiny rabbit in the first place, driving at freeway speed, at night 2) recognize it was about to run into the fire 3) pull over All within the the split second it takes a rabbit to run across a freeway? Not doubting the goodness of his intentions, just very confused
