Memphis pastor who admitted to sexual assault of a teenager put on "leave of absence" by current church. Why the fuck hasn't he been fired? He admitted to using his position as a YOUTH minister to manipulate a 17 year old girl to suck him off. He should never be put in a leadership position again.

Well, Lot offered his own two daughters to a mob of rapists so that the visiting angels to the town would be spared of rape. And Lot was the "good guy" in town. Lot is of course rewarded for this. As you can see, the Bible has a history of rape being put on the back burner. Edit:. Additional information

Because it's been 20 years he was 22 so not much older than her, and the age of consent in Texas is 17. That's why.

I knew a man who molested his 9 yr old step daughter in Colorado about 12 years ago. When the wife found out, she went to the church. The church had it in their mind to counsel him until he was cured by God. Then, the state passed a law that if church clergy knew of this, they had to report or be complicit. They were all for hiding his crime right up to that point where they might go to prison. They went with him to tell the police. Long story short, after about a year, he ended up in prison and the state took the kids away because mom didn't take the kids and leave him when she found out.

Welcome to the Evangelical movement. Please don’t stay long, it’s as close to Hell as you’ll find among people who believe that the afterlife is guaranteed to be good for them.

He never admitted to sexual assault. That is a lie. He described a consensual encounter. The incident was not statuary rape under Texas law. However, even consensual sex was extremely inappropriate in that context; which is why he resigned in 1998, and is publicly apologising now.

In the girls confession she said she thought she loved him and thought this meant he loved her. She said she willingly gave him a blowjob albeit after he apparently, Louis CK style, just whipped it out. She also said that he stopped in the middle of it and got out of the car started crying and begging for forgiveness. And asked her to never tell anyone, take it to the grave. And then turned himself in the next day to the Pastor. And he was told to stay away from her. I got all this from Philip DeFranco show. And he seemed pretty upset at the guy also. I’m torn on it. I mean she said she felt like he loved her. That doesn’t seem like a sexual assault in her mind at the time. What was their relationship like before this? Did they flirt at all or had they just meet? But on the other hand he felt the need to break down and apologize right in site and beg her not to tell. Was that because of how it went down. Driving into the woods I think it said, after saying he’d give her a ride home. Did he ask her to go there? Definitely could be scary as hell if not the case. Or was it just because of some church reason that he felt he was defying. His apology was annoying. He kept pointing out it was 20 years ago. But he was a lot younger and he apologized and “turned himself in” to the church. Who chose not to turn him into authorities after talking to...both of them? Maybe just him. I don’t know. The line one crosses from hitting on a girl to sexual assault to rape is becoming quite blurry. And with the bar lowering sometimes to standards so insanely low that I would have to call my self a sexual predator in the past. I get worried of what some people would call sexual assault actually just being some gross dude. I mean I know there’s a lot of just whip it out dudes out there. I’m not one myself but there’s definitely quite a few of them. Is that sexual assault? Im not talking about this guy driving into the woods where he could kill you. I mean in your bedroom, car, whatever. The guy thinks the girl likes him. They make out. He whips it out. Is that sexual assault? She grabs it and starts blowing him. Is that sexual assault? She says dude...put your dick away. Is that sexual assault. The girl screams at the top of her lungs Help me Help Me. Was that sexual assault. Or did that moron just embarrass the shit out of himself.

After reading her story I don’t think this qualifies as assault, more like a story of regret and guilt. She didn’t seem to show any outward reluctance. What he did was gross and shady, but she went along with everything without a word or action of protest. We need to teach girls that their NO has power and they don’t have to comply with any guy’s sexual request because they want him to like them. However I’ll say he’s a scumbag and shouldn’t be in a position of authority in a church. I’d definitely would not someone like him as a pastor, deacon/elder or even Sunday School teacher.

'bout ready to toss "assault" and "manipulate" into the bin along with "Nazis" as words that apparently don't mean anything anymore. A 17 year old woman gave a guy she liked a blowjob. Get over yourself, reddit.

Because Jesus forgives, of course. Now if he was non-Christian...

So let me get this straight. He asks for a blow job and she does it. Only to regret it later and now it's sexual assault? She could've said no. Also please stop the bullshit about his power. A secretary can have sex with her boss and can be consensual.

Imagine the frothing at the mouth by the Christian-Republicans has this been a Muslim Imam.

Whose pussy would Jesus grab? Your underage daughter's, apparently. Good to see that christian fundamentalists aren't shy about letting everyone see that they're just as backwards and insane as islamic fundamentalists. Maybe the issue isn't the particular religion, but the mental illness that causes fundamentalism...

Christianity is a great deal- unconditional forgiveness for its adherents and guaranteed damnation for nonbelievers. Truly a racket.

If you actually read the story it really isn't that serious, what he did was kinda weird but hardly sexual assault

A 17 year old woman has agency and can certainly perform fellatio on a penis out of her own volition. Certain women find said activities enjoyable.
