Fallout4's "sarcastic" dialogue options in a nutshell.
13 Jan 2018 23:08 - +183
Yeah i remember a character was acting all scared and depressed over what they did to me. And an option was "I don't care" which i figured was i don't care about the shit you did it's in the past. Nope, my character was just like "Yeah i don't care about you peace"

Compulsive saver here. I have no idea what this feels like, but I imagine it must be horrible.
13 Jan 2018 23:37 - +39
People have saves from longer than 5mins ago?
13 Jan 2018 22:38 - +38
My first run through of Fallout 3, I was getting ready to stop for the night after several hours of play, and I killed Moriarty just for fun. It really fucked me over.
13 Jan 2018 23:43 - +32
*glass him*
13 Jan 2018 23:53 - +31
Every fucking time. Games need to add /s tags or something similar: [angry], [sarcastic], just tag that shit SOMEHOW so we as players know what the option will do. Everyone interprets differently, most of the time the choices do what they say, but there's always a few in every game where they do the opposite it seems. "> Have a nice day" ends up being, "I can't afford that. Have a nice day you piece of shit, fuck your family, fuck your bloodline, I'll find your family in hell."
13 Jan 2018 23:36 - +19
This is what its like to play divinity original sin 2, only that horrible thing you said just made you fail the whole quest line and agro the entire camp

King Dragon sends his regards.

I usually don’t pay attention to dialog with merchants in eso, so one time I wanted to sell some crap and I kept hitting X and next thing I know I’m robbing the guy and he is all bummed out and won’t talk to me anymore. I felt pretty shitty.
13 Jan 2018 23:42 - +9
I save before dialogue religiously, but never remember to save before boss fights. It's like I'd rather die than accidentally offend someone in a way I can't fix.
13 Jan 2018 23:40 - +9
Damnit fallout 4

13 Jan 2018 23:44 - +7
Honestly, why do the game feel like they must make sure that the label on the dialogue option is explicitly *not* what the character says?
13 Jan 2018 23:55 - +5
I killed Keira Metz because of this... Poor Lambert.
13 Jan 2018 23:56 - +5
Playing SWTOR back in the day. Clicks the one about "efficiency". Character says "Why kill two birds with one stone when you can kill one bird with two stones and make it suffer?"... That's what I get for playing Inquisitor lol
13 Jan 2018 23:46 - +5
Fallout 4. In the earlier games I could at least read the whole answer
13 Jan 2018 23:22 - +5
I like to write CYOA stories on the internet. I do a little writing, leave some options, and the readers pick what happens. My favorite one will always be "Let him go" vs "Oh shit no crap crap no no no".
13 Jan 2018 23:43 - +5
Playing Witcher.Picks a dialogue option that seemingly leads to sex.Fail Miserably.Last save game is at another city from three hours back.Turns off computer and faps while watching porn.

This is how I once failed to have a miniature giant space hamster join my party. I'm sorry I cracked wise at you, Minsc.

This is me in Skyrim when I just pick the response at the top and then realising that I end up sounding like a fucking noob and since I've played this game before I can be all like "yea I know all that shit, don't try to sound so fucking smart, Wylandriah"
14 Jan 2018 00:01 - +3
In Life Is Strange Before the Storm... every time I’m accidentally mean to my mom 😢
13 Jan 2018 23:56 - +3
ME is the only game that it's really bothered me, I had to download the save game editor and alter the progress of the previous games saved games options because of guilt.
14 Jan 2018 00:06 - +3
My fave is when you hit quick restore instead of quick save after a grueling section.
14 Jan 2018 00:00 - +2
That's my main gripe with all these dialogue choices in game. The prompt says "no I don't think so..." Your dude says "You piece of fucking shit, you're wrong! Fuck you and your whole settlement I'll burn it all down if I have to! By the way, can you tell me about synths?"
13 Jan 2018 23:51 - +2
Obligatory Steve Harvey is an asshole post.
14 Jan 2018 00:11 - +2
Fallout 4 sarcastic opinion when your talk to nick
13 Jan 2018 23:58 - +2
You're not a true gamer if you don't quicksave every 5 seconds, or take every opportunity you get to save.
14 Jan 2018 00:04 - +2
This just reminded me of when I played through mass effect 2 for the first time and I accidentally punched the shit out of that reporter lady. I swear I thought Shepard was just gonna tell her off. Greatest gaming moment of my life and I didn’t even mean to do it.
14 Jan 2018 00:00 - +2
I remember speaking to a sweet old lady in LA NOIRE and using the doubt option, thought she was too scared to tell me something and Cole calls her a nosy old hag, Galloway never let that one go
14 Jan 2018 00:09 - +2
I like mods that allow you to see full dialogue chains so you can anticipate what you should say...It's kinda spoilery but at the same time its easier to stay in character that way. Sometimes the writing for these dialogue options is fucking idiotic... NOBODY CARES IF YOUR FACE IS TIRED!
14 Jan 2018 00:01 - +2
doki doki LC :D

\> Be me. \> Playing Dragon Age 1 tenth playthrough. \> Did the "hardening" options (huehuehue) for Alistair to toughen him up. \> Went through the god damn crucible of the kingsmoot or whatever. \> Decided recruiting the Big Bad, Logaine, would be cool, I need the achievement. \> Cue Alistair standing up for himself for the first time. **Against** me. \> He would rather die than back down. I have to kill Logaine or kill Alistair. \> Alistair always been my bro. Every playthrough. Always taking the hits for the team so I can kill mans. \> I really want that achievement though bro. \> Have to reevaluate what kind of person I am becoming in my vidya games. \> Takes me two hours to choose the next dialogue option. True story.
13 Jan 2018 23:53 - +2
I killed Keira Metz because of this... Poor Lambert.
14 Jan 2018 00:11 - +2
Fallout 4 solved this problem by making all the options bland and inoffensive.

Amateur. You ALWAYS save before going into GTA civilian rampage mode.

13 Jan 2018 23:58 - +1
I've done this, and then gone back to the save from 5 hours ago. That's how much I hate myself.
14 Jan 2018 00:08 - +1
This is why I hate dialogue wheels, aka Fallout 4. You'll pick something to say but it turns out to be something completely different. Let us know exactly what our character will say when we decide on a dialogue lol.
14 Jan 2018 00:00 - +1
Fuck Steve Harvey though
14 Jan 2018 00:07 - +1
"Glass him"
14 Jan 2018 00:01 - +1
Picked up SWTOR again recently (they had a huge bonus XP event around new years) and it's one of the worst offenders of this. It's honestly pretty hard to feel like your character has any kind of identity unless you go 100% full light or dark side. Things like "No time." become "I could care less if you and every man on this ship die, Captain." It's ridiculous. And it sucks because the story is the only reason to play that game.

14 Jan 2018 00:10 - +1

14 Jan 2018 00:05 - +1
Looking at you KOTOR
14 Jan 2018 00:04 - +1
Dont be a pussy, you made a choice and stick with it. These things still might turn out alright.
14 Jan 2018 00:02 - +1
I always save before major convos lol
14 Jan 2018 00:05 - +1
Oh god when Geralt beats the shit out of Dijkstra and you lose the whole Empress Ciri questline out of an innocent dialogue option
14 Jan 2018 00:03 - +1
KOTOR 2 was so deceiving doing this! Damn dark side points!
14 Jan 2018 00:05 - +1
Many a times in SWTOR...

14 Jan 2018 00:03 - +1
Happened to me in the Witcher 3 and the Keira Metz story line. I tought I'd be reasonable but instead she started attacking me and I ended up having to killer her. It was horrible.
14 Jan 2018 00:07 - +1
