"upstate" Probably in Westchester
13 Feb 2018 21:44 - +56
Never too many books.
14 Feb 2018 01:00 - +41
They probably call hamburgers "steamed hams" there. Or was it more of an Albany expression?

As someone who has had severe problems with stoves like that, I'm really glad there's a fire extinguisher right next to it (although that's not the best location tbh). I just hope there's a CO detector, too.

A person could get a lot of comfort and thinking done in that place!. beautiful!

Ho no no. It's an Albany expression.

Nice. My favorite posts on this sub are the ones that are obviously not multi million dollar properties.

I wonder where in upstate NY? Would love to happen upon one of these when I'm out hunting
14 Feb 2018 01:19 - +5
I grew up in upstate NY and used to spend my early teenager days scouring the woods for off season hunting cabins to steal porno magazines from. This cabin would have been a prime target for sure, but I guess kids these days don't have to hike through the snow just to gaze upon some boobs. Now it'll just be used to shoot heroin...
13 Feb 2018 23:57 - +5
That is one flammable room! Good to see the fire extinguisher handy, not enough people think about them.
14 Feb 2018 00:10 - +3
Oh so the library is the cabin. ha
14 Feb 2018 01:02 - +3
Is it really a bookcase if you don’t have books shoved in every opening crevice?
14 Feb 2018 02:16 - +3
What's wrong with ur dog, he doesn't look ok
14 Feb 2018 03:16 - +3
What is this word "library" you use and what are those objects on the wall? Yours truly, Donald J Trump. PS: Please keep paper with letters to a one piece of paper maximum, using drawings as much as possible and mentioning my awesome name as much as possible. MAGA.

God, I love those book shelves.
14 Feb 2018 01:42 - +2
I mean, it seems spacious, but I doubt it's 2364x2955.
13 Feb 2018 23:33 - +2
Oh, thats my shit!
14 Feb 2018 04:39 - +1
I really hate those bookshelves. They are so inefficient. You could potentially store so many books in this cabin, but that's not possible because of those stupid-ass "artsy" bookcases.

How the hell did you get into my house?!
14 Feb 2018 03:04 - +1
nice jotul stove
14 Feb 2018 00:37 - +1
Look at all those props, I mean books
14 Feb 2018 03:13 - +1
Secluded library in a tiny cabin, or a tiny library in a secluded cabin? Eh?
14 Feb 2018 02:27 - +1
read this as "seduced library" was very confused but also intrigued
14 Feb 2018 03:16 - +1
I can never see windows like that without imagining seeing a dark figure there at night.
14 Feb 2018 03:50 - +1
White people...
14 Feb 2018 04:36 - +1
I would replace those books with whiskey bottles.
14 Feb 2018 04:05 - +1
There's a bed in the library?
14 Feb 2018 05:03 - +1
looks stress free
14 Feb 2018 04:08 - +1
...where you burn books to keep warm
14 Feb 2018 01:01 - +1
No heat shielding behind the stove / stovepipe. Brave, Very brave!
14 Feb 2018 04:13 - +1
For the compulsively curious, the chair pillow is in French and is a decor item with an olive oil brand motif, [like this one](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eDZV8Unud4o/Uej_Yq8LLWI/AAAAAAAAQK8/sB3BOyhxG4g/s1600/hmh%25C3%25B6st10.jpg).
14 Feb 2018 02:15 - +1
No blinds?
14 Feb 2018 04:20 - +1
Those are some useless f'ing shelves.
14 Feb 2018 02:35 - +1
If its a "tiny" cabin is that the only room?
13 Feb 2018 23:14 - +1
Scenic
14 Feb 2018 03:03 - +1
is that verlyn klinkenborgs house
13 Feb 2018 23:45 - +1
I'd love to wood-panel my man-cave. I wonder if it could be done without being crazy-expensive.
14 Feb 2018 03:07 - +1
During the day this would be an awesome room to be in. At night, I would just wonder if a bear or serial killer would burst through that window and murder me. Might just be me though...
14 Feb 2018 00:49 - +1
Love it. Perfect relaxation getaway
14 Feb 2018 03:15 - +1
Cool. But I weep for the spines of the books right by the window. Somebody pull a blind!
14 Feb 2018 00:54 - +1
Those books right up on the ceiling have got me stressed out
14 Feb 2018 03:18 - +1
I feel like Logan Paul would ruin those woods...
14 Feb 2018 00:55 - +1
Strange layout. I would extend one of those bookcases into a desk for that chair (and put a seat next to the window for reading). The website doesnt do a full 360 of the building (which nobody seems to do), so I dont know if there is one, but I would certainly add an outhouse.
14 Feb 2018 04:04 - +1
I suppose both the library and the cabin are secluded
14 Feb 2018 01:33 - +1
This is all I want
14 Feb 2018 04:05 - +1
My only problem is they don't show the McMansion nearby which probably dwarfs this cabin...
14 Feb 2018 01:35 - +1
Is this really upstate? Or just 30 min north of NYC? I can't seem to find any info on where exactly it is?
14 Feb 2018 04:11 - +1
Sweet
14 Feb 2018 01:36 - +1
The shelving is making my eye twitch

This is basically my apocalypse/retirement fantasy in one picture.
14 Feb 2018 04:25 - +1
I read in a book on feng shui that too much wood gives a sense of being overwhelmed. How do y'all feel about that principle in view of this room?

14 Feb 2018 04:32 - +1
A library is a great place for a fireplace. You don't even need wood!
14 Feb 2018 01:51 - +1
What do you call that type of wood?
14 Feb 2018 04:37 - +1
This is a "tiny" cabin?
14 Feb 2018 01:54 - +1
Yes I want to live here.
14 Feb 2018 04:54 - +1
It must smell so good... books, wood and a stove. So cozy.
14 Feb 2018 01:56 - +1
Is it just me, or is that stove way too close to that wall?
14 Feb 2018 05:09 - +1
Aren’t these secluded places more prone to criminal activity?
14 Feb 2018 01:57 - +1
Looks cozy...but I see myself stubbing my toe on the floorboard as well as cold air drafts. And the corners where the wall meets ceiling, that gap bugs me.
13 Feb 2018 23:53 - +1
Ermagerd. Stuff of all my dreams
