Non English person here so not sure what remission mean, but from what I see in comments a "hell yeah!" seems in order here Edit: your lovely smile was a great giveaway too

Stage IV!? HUGE CONGRATULATIONS. My wife just battled a year of stage 1B, lost her left hemisphere to mastectomy. She never once complained through all the surgeries and recoveries. A testament to how much stronger you ladies are than I will ever be. I wish you a hundred more years of happy days.

Outstanding! I finish AC in a month then start taxol. The taxol is 3 moths. I cannot WAIT to ring the bell being done with chemo. I HATE chemo. Fuck cancer

I still have to go back every three weeks indefinitely for my antibodies and waiting for a surgery ate and start for radiotherapy, but the longest part is done :) Edit: Thank you for all of your kind words! I’m so sorry to see so many of you dealing with cancer two. Fuck cancer. Edit 2: Shit guys, thank you for the triple gold!!

Not wanting be an asshole but these kinds of posts aren’t what r/pics is about... it’s literally becoming a place for selfies with stories attached but no value in the actual picture. It just seems like every day I see one of these kinds of posts on the front page when I feel like there are plenty of other places to post this type of content (r/happy, r/cancer, etc.)

My wife found a lump a month ago. Her mother had cancer at the same age my wife is now. Today she finally got in to the clinic for the first round of tests. They know it's a tumour, but not whether it's malignant or benign. It's been one of the most stressful months of our lives waiting for answers. I'm not sure if it's coincidence or I'm just noticing them more with what's going on in my life, but since the whole ordeal started I've seen a bunch of posts like this one and I've gotta say they're certainly helping me stay positive. I'm happy to see so many people winning the fight. Congratulations, as others here have said, and thanks for sharing. I know she's not been diagnosed, but there's enough red flags going up that it's a very real possibility right now. Seeing this post, and others like it, does a world of good for not just giving hope but putting things in perspective.

My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 1995 and is still here today. She is an amazing woman, as I'm sure you are. Congrats OP!!

Cancer done fucked with the wrong woman. You even look beautiful after beating some serious ass.
14 Feb 2018 04:00 - +42
Seriously, r/cancer . This sub is just karma whoring cancer posts now.
14 Feb 2018 04:17 - +34
so its r/pics with stories then. the photo is horrid and grainy and would be pretty lame if not for the backstory but oh well

Congratulations. I'm happy for you. My mom's been dealing with stage IV plus A-fib induced by a loading dose gone wrong for almost 4 years now with no end in sight. I don't know how she keeps her spirits up, but she's one hell of a fighter.
14 Feb 2018 04:31 - +22
Is there a way to filter out the "My cancer is in remission" and "I lost a bunch of weight" posts on r/pics? They're one of the top posts basically every day on this sub...

You are beautiful and inspirational!

Both my grandma and grandpa got diagnosed within weeks of each other. My grandpa found a lump in his breast tissue and was diagnosed with breast cancer a week later. My grandma decided to get a mammogram as she hadn't had one in a long time. She too was diagnosed with breast cancer. My grandma's was stage 3. She got a mastectomy and went through chemo. My grandpa's was stage 1 so no chemo for him, but he did test positive for BRCA gene mutation, so my mom and aunt got tested as well. Luckily they do not have the gene mutation and their mammograms have shown all clear so far. My grandma said going through chemo was the worst part of her life, yet she got up everyday with a smile on her face just happy to be alive. She made it through chemo with complete remission and is now cancer free. Congratulations on making it through chemo to remission! It's a struggle only the strongest can make it through with a smile on their face.

Wow, impressive!!! I'm so happy for you and I wish you the best from now on :) Part of my work involves developing software for clinical trials and software to record data of cancer patients and though survival rates are increasing a lot with the new treatments, recovering from a stage IV is not a thing I see very often. Congrats :)

Is stage 4 bad? Also, what is treatment like? Like, whats it feel like? Are you just tired all the time and can't hold food down?
14 Feb 2018 04:21 - +2
Not sure if this is appropriate, but you are the most attractive person undergoing chemo that I have ever seen! :)
