Reddit's got a weird anti-shaun white circle jerk, but I don't give a shit he's THE best snowboarder period. you can't watch that run and not be insanely impressed. 12 years after his first gold and he's on top of the game and better than ever. honestly incredible and so exciting to watch.

I thought 1080s were the peak of snowboarding because of a certain video game

He's getting some free Mountain Dews on the flight home I bet.

rofl at the retards in the twitter replies giving him shit for getting tossed a US flag and him dropping it and accadentally stepping on it who gives a fuck he just won a gold medal for the US, what have these mouth breathers done?

In the late 90s my Dad had a whole bunch of snowboarding vhs tapes. I remember watching this one with [Shaun White at 11 years old] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYxY1LL3AUk) (I think it's from the Totally Board series but could be wrong). You knew watching him in those early videos that he was going to be incredible.

So excited! Talk about clutch ... knowing you're sitting in second and you have to put up over a 95 ... had to hit it clean and he did. And to hear that Ayumu Hirano had a 1620 ... I kinda wanted to see it but a part of me knew if we did that'd be tough to match. Congrats Shaun!

I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear. Fucking love Shaun White...what an amazing story and final run. Dude is gonna be drowning in Mountain Dew baby!

I love the weird string of comments dissing him about accidentally standing on the flag. Are you fucking serious? He wins the third gold medal for his country by being the undisputed world champion at his sport and you try to pick on him for momentarily forgetting flag etiquette? People have to feel superior in some way I guess.

Shouldn't hate on anyone who puts a sport on the map. As far as the general public goes I'm pretty sure Shaun White was the first (and maybe only) house-hold name of Snowboarding.

Someone edit it so it looks like he's going super-saiyan at the end.

Scott from Austin Powers sure can board

He totally earned this one after all the hardships this past year. Well done 31 year old man

Just talkin’ about Mountain Dew, baby.

Even as a Canadian, this guy makes me feel proud!

I know it’s kind of a jaded thing to say at this point, but I can’t wait until ESPN comes out with a 30 for 30 about Shaun White. He’s such a legend on the slopes, but I bet most people (myself included) don’t even know the half of all the challenges he’s had to overcome throughout his career. Major props to the Flying Tomato- if the clutch gene exists, he for sure has it. I’ll always remember the days watching him and Travis Pastrana tearing up the X Games, and I’m so pumped he was able to throw down for another gold on the worlds biggest stage!!

One time I did a 360 on a trampoline so I can totally feel his level of excitement there at the end. Accomplishing what only a handful of people can do is such a great feeling!

My wife and I were discussing how odd it is to be on TV for about a combined thirty minutes every four years, and almost everyone in the county knows who you are.

Jesus Christ twitter comments are terrible
14 Feb 2018 13:27 - +23
It was insane! I thought the prelims were nuts. Shawn laid it down then Ayumu went come at me bro to where Shawn answered with an exclamation of why he is the King. Those two are nuts.

That last landing was so fucking clean!!
14 Feb 2018 12:06 - +18
What an amazing way to end his career. what a badass.

Oh man, imagine that feeling! Congratulations to Shaun White!

I saw Shaun earn gold at the 2010 Vancouver olympics. Watching him practice and perform it was clear that there were two types of competitors in that event: Shaun White, and everyone else. His style, amplitude and technique were obviously way ahead of the pack. Also, I got a pic with Tony Hawk who popped into the crowd because he's a cool guy.
