Original Doom soundtrack anyone?

Additional LPT: try studying in silence. It works better for some minds. I tried different types of music and found working in silence was best for me. It boosted my concentration levels immensely.

Yeah but if you want to get NOIDED listen to death grips. It's designed to make you escape from reality.

love reddit karma? find LPT posts from a month or a year or two ago and repost their titles verbatim.

So two days ago I started listening to the Mass Effect soundtracks while doing my Chem and Calc studies. After a while, I thought to myself, this would make a good LPT. The only negative thing I could think of is how badly it makes me want to play the games I'm listening to. If I listen to 1 second of super metroid, I can't stop until mother brain is my bitch. Great minds think alike, stranger. *interwebs high five* Edit: and now I have the super metroid theme song stuck in my head

I dont know about that last part. But i use game ost to study all the time.

Awful LPT. I'm pretty sure video game music is generally not designed with this in mind. It's true that some tracks could be really immersive, but that's meant for the game (just like how movie soundtracks are designed to be immersive), not for studying. If anything, I'd be very distracted if the video game music is on because I'd be thinking of playing video games instead of studying! But I know everyone is different.

Tell that to the Halo OST. No way you keep focus while listening to that

TIL Steve Buscemi was a firefighter on 9/11

Or maybe, just maybe, musicians aren't scientists? They just make the music they think would fit the game? Source: make music for video games

Looking for some good game music? Check out the rainwave channel that's curated by the OC remix community: https://rainwave.cc/ocremix/ They have separate channels for remixes or pure game music if you prefer that.

If I started the Skyrim theme song while working, half way through I would be on my desk, shirtless, yelling DOVAKIIN! DOVAKIIN! Maybe not the best option.

If you need music, there's always the lo-fi/chillpop streams that are available on YouTube. Pretty much no singing or lyrics, and if there is, you don't really have to focus on it.
22 Feb 2018 20:00 - +1
Or try classical. I feel like video game music would drive me crazy.
22 Feb 2018 22:08 - +1
Halo soundtrack. That’s my favorite. Plus, the music is just amazing.
22 Feb 2018 20:34 - +1
Mirror's Edge soundtrack is excellent.
22 Feb 2018 20:17 - +1
Listen to Brian Eno's music for airports
22 Feb 2018 22:02 - +1
I usually put Final Fantasy's OST because Uematsu is the one true God of music. And it works
22 Feb 2018 22:08 - +1
I usually play some recording of rain when I need to focus on work
22 Feb 2018 21:04 - +1
You can't design a song to do something like that. There are way to many different types of songs in video games. Just a very lazy LPT attempt at easy karma.
22 Feb 2018 22:54 - +1
Is this true or BS?
22 Feb 2018 22:00 - +1
The Hotline Miami soundtrack is pretty good for this.

LPT: Try [Tabletop Audio](http://tabletopaudio.com/)!! It's meant to be background music and ambience tracks for people playing DnD or tabletop games, but I use it at work all the time!
22 Feb 2018 21:54 - +1
I would definitely recommend the Minecraft soundtrack it's just perfect for me.
22 Feb 2018 22:04 - +1
Spotify's playlist Soundscapes for Gaming is great for studying I have found, would check it out if you find some types of music distracting while working but would prefer not to work in silence.
22 Feb 2018 20:11 - +1
/u/snisflen how does it feel to see your LPT posted at least once a month?
22 Feb 2018 22:17 - +1
Not in Final Fantasies (Nobuo especially), Silent Hill 2, Chrono Trigger... Music is so good I can't help but pay attention to it.
22 Feb 2018 22:10 - +1
> because they are designed to make sure your attention is not diverted away... Gonna need a source on that claim...
22 Feb 2018 22:37 - +1
Sea Shanty 2 is legit
22 Feb 2018 20:54 - +1
I wrote papers to movie soundtracks and now do desk work to tv show playlists like Got and West world.
22 Feb 2018 22:04 - +1
No, I'm a musician. Music just distracts my mind.
22 Feb 2018 21:41 - +1
Disclaimer: Doesn't work for the Nier soundtracks because you'll just *feel* too much.
22 Feb 2018 22:06 - +1
I often put on the Braid soundtrack while I'm at work. It's perfect for this.
22 Feb 2018 21:51 - +1
My preference is Jeremy Soule.
22 Feb 2018 22:15 - +1
