*“I have no fear of losing my life - if I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it.”* -- Steve Irwin Personality, passion, conservationist, family man. RIP.

Steve, we wanted to let you know something... Your wife still misses you, she's never remarried. She did an interview and said someone's soulmate only comes along once in a lifetime. She found hers when she met you and now that you're gone she's okay with that. She's made your life's work her life's work and that will keep her going till you both meet again. Your daughter has grown into a beautiful, intelligent, fearless young woman that's out there teaching others the way you did and carrying on your legacy. We could all only hope to have our own children grow up that well and that loved. Your little boy is doing amazing as well. He's still only a teen, but he's already been on tv, co-written a book, and might turn out to be a remarkable wildlife photographer. The rest of us... well, we miss you too. You were a teacher to many, an inspiration to so many more. Now, get your finger out of that heavenly croc's ass, mate, if you'd have just asked him what his sex was he'd have happily told ya'!

His daughter is neck deep in dangerous animals all day. That little girl has no fear.

This guy was literally one of my biggest role models as a child. He was freaking crazy to go up against some of the animals he worked with, but that just went to show how passionate he was about spreading the love he had for all animals regardless of their negative connotations. He truly is missed. Also dressed up as him one year for Halloween and had a badass stuffed python I carried around. So much satisfaction when I got to yell "crikey" every time someone gave me candy

Used to be the highlight of my teenage years knowing there was a Steve Irwin documentary on at the weekend!

One of my biggest realizations that I'm getting older was when Steve died. He was that childhood role mode that I actually wanted to meet. Like meeting him was on my bucket list until the Ray got him. Childhood hero gone in an instant.
22 Feb 2018 22:21 - +47
His death hit me hard. I still remember where I was at school when I first heard he died.
22 Feb 2018 20:42 - +39
So great to see his family appear happy and in the public eye. He seemed to have such a wonderful and loved family.
22 Feb 2018 20:51 - +26
Celebrity death karma is a renewable resource.
22 Feb 2018 22:29 - +25
As a kid I was hurt when this man died. I still think about him to this day. Humans like him dont come around to often. A real legend.
22 Feb 2018 20:10 - +22
We didn't deserve him... R.I.P Mate.
22 Feb 2018 19:54 - +19
Crikey mate, that's one hell of an emotional picture, just look at the feels of that.
22 Feb 2018 22:35 - +17
Steve Irwin was one of those people who clarifies to me that there certainly are people who truly burn brighter than most all others.
22 Feb 2018 22:33 - +15
Honestly, this guy was my hero when I was younger (and still is today). I always remember the day he died. It was probably one of the first times I'd experienced the death of someone who I really cared about, as I hadn't had a close family member or anyone I knew at that point die. It was also the day I started secondary school, so that was a shit way to start the day.
22 Feb 2018 22:38 - +15
I really miss Steve Irwin. I don't think I watched anything on TV as much as I watched his shows as a kid.
22 Feb 2018 20:37 - +14
You see that scorpion over there? Well I'm gonna go french kiss the little mate.
22 Feb 2018 22:38 - +14
Damn *only* 56.... he really was taken too young, although with his energy 90 would’ve still been young for him

22 Feb 2018 22:33 - +11
Same birthday as /u/waterguy12. He would have loved this.
22 Feb 2018 22:59 - +11
I never met Steve, but I feel like I lost a family member with him.
22 Feb 2018 21:23 - +11
Happy Birthday Mate. I'll have a cold one for you in memory. Also Steve Irwin should be on the new $50 bill. #legend
22 Feb 2018 22:34 - +10
He looks so much like my Dad. I was devastated when he died, he was my hero. It was only a few years later that I realized how similar he looks to my dad.
22 Feb 2018 22:32 - +9
Hey, he has the same birthday as u/waterguy12
22 Feb 2018 22:45 - +8
No disrespect to Steve Irwin, was a great guy. But do karma farmers have an app that lets them know when it is the day that a famous person died? Or did op just know that it was his birthday?

Dude inspired millions of kids to try pronouncing the word "crikey" just like he did!!
22 Feb 2018 22:48 - +6
He'd be so freaking proud of his wife and kids, that's for sure.
22 Feb 2018 22:36 - +5
I loved Steve Irwin “Crikey your a big fella danger danger danger” from the US to Australia thanks for this man he was taken way to young but he taught a lot of us the reason to respect nature.
22 Feb 2018 20:33 - +5
G’day all! Today I’m gonna fondle this funnel web spider in the crotch and film it’s reaction. I miss you Steve

Whenever I think of him, I always think about what he’d be up to now. Imagine what he could do with today’s technology, even if it was just his show but in super deluxe ultra HD. Man that’d be awesome. I should go back and watch his show.
22 Feb 2018 23:29 - +2
Steve Irwin will be introduced to my kids shortly. I want them to experience his enthusiasm and tenacity in supporting the natural world, as I believe wholeheartedly was one of a small handful of people who genuinely were *good*.
