This is from the bridge in Zion National Park in Utah. Absolutely beautiful park, second only to Yosemite imo. Camera: Pentax K 3-II, SMC Pentax-DA 3.5-5.8 18-55mm AL WR. Settings: f/4, ISO 100, 18mm, 1/800s, lightly adjusted and split toned in Lightroom. But who watches the Watchman?

Where's Rorshak and Dr. Manhatin? - Ken M

The Watchman is one of Zion National Parks most recognized feature. It sits prominently above the South Entrance Park Headquarters, the Watchman Campground and the town of Springdale, Utah. As part of a jagged ridge line that runs on the East side of the Zion Valley, it guards the southern portion of this ridge. The most famous and recognizable shot of this giant rock buttress is usually taken from the north near the Watchman Campground.

I just want to take a dip in that right now

We finally have an answer to that age old question of “Who watches the watchmen?” It’s /u/JohnBoltonsMoustache
17 Apr 2018 02:05 - +6
Whoa, I really love this. It's not blown out or touched up too excessively. It really looks like what hiking feels like. Thank you for posting.

Almost didn't believe this wasn't a the witcher 3 pic, especially because of that bright green tree.

Here was [my attempt](https://i.imgur.com/oK352vK.jpg) from last September. I’m jealous you had clouds! Mine was taken right at sunrise
17 Apr 2018 01:46 - +2
Looks like Horizon Zero Dawn

The trouble I have with this place is that it's not really wilderness. I've been to a lot of parks, and this one was really different. All of the trails were paved, there were people on all sides of us the entire way up and down. It looked like a Disneyland walkway. They have hand rails and ropes telling you exactly where you can and can't go the entire way. There was a lot of trash. Plus, it's THICK into hardcore Mormon country. I'm white, girlfriend is black. I got a hotel nearby and went to a Walmart to grab ice cream and everyone in the store kept staring at us like we were aliens or something. I've never felt like that before. Maybe it was just the time of year we went. I don't know. It was very pretty visually. Angel's Landing was the funnest time I've ever had almost dying for 2 hours straight.

Why is it called like that if I may ask?
17 Apr 2018 04:01 - +2
This photo literally melted my heart. 1) it’s beautiful and 2) I’m so damn excited for Red Dead Redemption II
17 Apr 2018 02:14 - +2
Reminds me of Wildspire Waste where the Jyuratodus resides...
17 Apr 2018 02:20 - +2
Zion is probably my favorite park in the whole country. It's too beautiful.
17 Apr 2018 01:42 - +2
Gives me a lot of Horizon Zero Dawn vibes, especially in regard to its similarity to the Carja Sundom, given that that region is based off where the picture was taken.
17 Apr 2018 02:59 - +2
Love your name, btw
17 Apr 2018 01:49 - +2
There are so many amazing national parks I still have yet to visit, but I can’t get over the desire to just keep going back to Zion.
17 Apr 2018 02:06 - +2

The fly fisherman immediately looked at the river. Man I would fish that pocket water all day. The seam next to the boulder by the tree is especially tasty.

Going in 2 weeks. Cant wait
17 Apr 2018 03:24 - +1
Looks like Westworld towards the end of the first season.
17 Apr 2018 02:25 - +1
What the hell are you watching for? Trout going over the speed limit? Worst Watchman ever.

I love the framing! Gentle and small river at the bottom, and then mountains and a big open sky at the top.

I can see dr Manhattan's blue penis
17 Apr 2018 02:35 - +1

Looks like a place that a Wendigo would be.
17 Apr 2018 06:21 - +1
Woah, a picture at Zion that doesn't have contrast pushed to over 9000! Upvotes all around :D
17 Apr 2018 03:05 - +1
Wakanda?!
16 Apr 2018 23:36 - +1
I'm getting the feeling this is Yosemite? I took a lot of pictures of there, but this would be a new angle I don't recognize.
17 Apr 2018 03:12 - +1
Just got back from a week long trip to Utah. Took the Watchman trail and the Canyon Overlook trail. Both were so incredible at the top.
16 Apr 2018 23:47 - +1
Woa
17 Apr 2018 03:19 - +1
And behold the Earth was created. So pure & pristine.
17 Apr 2018 00:51 - +1
That top cloud looks like a cartoon character, but I can't figure out which one.. Edit: It's Alf. Does anyone else see it?
17 Apr 2018 03:27 - +1
Beautifully detailed.
17 Apr 2018 01:45 - +1
This is incredibly gorgeous. Where exactly is this?
17 Apr 2018 03:29 - +1
Is there an iron lion in Zion?
17 Apr 2018 04:06 - +1
So what was it like going to Westworld? Have any adventures?
17 Apr 2018 03:31 - +1
Anyone else’s dream location to have on there doorstep? 🤔
17 Apr 2018 03:50 - +1
The Watchman trail is a great hike, so is Observation Point if you want to avoid the Angel's Landing crowds. Kolob Canyon also has beautiful wilderness - Taylor Creek to the Double Arches is a peaceful dayhike and very scenic.
17 Apr 2018 03:42 - +1
Who watches the watchman? It's us!
17 Apr 2018 03:51 - +1
The red rock in Utah is gorgeous!
17 Apr 2018 03:47 - +1
This fills me up with light. The New Jerusalem that my ancestors came to the America's looking for...
17 Apr 2018 02:15 - +1

Soon is heaven. Go there if you can.
17 Apr 2018 03:58 - +1
God I love Zion. Last summer I made it to the top of Observation Point. Favorite vacation so far.
17 Apr 2018 01:52 - +1
