Lol "spec"
17 Apr 2018 17:52 - +305
Not pictured is strips 2 through 50 where the spec changed while they were in the middle of implementing it. Edit: I actually meant panel rather than strip, meaning the middle of this comic is where the spec changes. But now that I read what I said, I think it is funnier this way so I'm leaving it.

I'm jealous of your spec. In these agile times, I havn't seen a spec in over 5 years. The best I have seen is 7-8 powerpoint slides describing the front-end which change every sprint. I'm a back-end developer.

It's like a real-life relationship, but without sex.
17 Apr 2018 18:19 - +14
Damn... so true it hurts.
17 Apr 2018 18:58 - +10
*This time* I'm gonna do it right!
17 Apr 2018 20:20 - +7
You get specs? Are they hiring?
17 Apr 2018 15:59 - +6
Heres the wishlist certainly in touch with reality *wink wink*... Also have you finished those other 1320 projects you were working on. Well they were more tasks which were their own individual projects due to the time it would of taken to complete them as "just make a complete new marketing video and a new frontend website from scratch" is a lot more than "do the computers". Yes I actually kept the list, thats the amount of projects I had in my "everything is top priority" list

More like one month later "Scrap that I want this instead"

100% true real life of a software developer.
17 Apr 2018 20:20 - +3
Haha when you start a project it has specs good one.
17 Apr 2018 19:28 - +3
No xkcd?
17 Apr 2018 20:33 - +3
Reverse the panels and it’s more accurate.
17 Apr 2018 20:36 - +2
Too real lol, who makes these comics?
17 Apr 2018 20:04 - +2
Have started laughing about getting a spec or requirement sheet yet?
17 Apr 2018 21:32 - +2
Currently having the worst year of my life because of this situation.
17 Apr 2018 20:46 - +2
I feel like this sub is 90% web developers.
17 Apr 2018 20:23 - +2
a truer image does not exist.

Remember you chose this.
17 Apr 2018 19:57 - +1
So true. I'd say this applies to just about any type of project. I work on old houses as a hobby and it certainly applies to those projects.
17 Apr 2018 22:09 - +1
I'm currently 3/4 of the way through my computer science dissertation. Feeling this so much, pray for me.
17 Apr 2018 20:00 - +1
Forgot to mention he had 10 other ongoing projects

There has to be 1 line flashing between red and green just for you to know you are royally fucked.
17 Apr 2018 20:36 - +1
Im working on a project right now, im on the point where i wanna just screw it and resign, its going so bad...
17 Apr 2018 21:15 - +1
The first panel perfectly describes my current situation. Will check back in couple of months.
17 Apr 2018 20:44 - +1
I have never seen this sentiment expressed ever before
17 Apr 2018 21:48 - +1
What percentage of computer science jobs end up in places where the cost of living is beyond what their starting salary would cover?
17 Apr 2018 20:48 - +1
For a sub dedicated to humour, it is very depressing at times :'(
